A vintage Japanese bronze koro originates in the tradition of ancient Chinese libation vessels. The finely cast tripod censer is layered with hand-chased reliefs, illuminated by a stunning shishi lion finial on the top, with a variant of eloquent motifs on the side wall, and guarded by two phoenixes flanking outward for handles. The tripod koro is graciously proportioned and glistens with a luscious aged patina. It appears well used, with the residue of incense ashes on the inside. It is a wonderful gift for any Buddhist practitioner.
