A large copper-tinted bronze koro, measuring 24 plus inches in height, ornates in the Meiji tradition of the ritual censer. Gracefully proportioned multi-tier chambers of majestically embellished birds and deep floral reliefs in the midsection, standing on four lion-face taotie mask stilts above a raised pedestal, with two stylized phoenixes flanking outward for handles. The censer is glistened by deeply embossed metallic motifs with a luscious patina. It appears well used with ash residues inside and out. A small drill hole on the base indicates that the censer was restored from being converted as a lighting fixture. Due to its fragile nature and its weight of 28 lbs. We offer complimentary ground shipping in the US for this gorgeous item.
