Bodhisattva of Mercy

Malachite and minor corrosion, very good aged condition
A finely cast older bronze with green malachite and naturally aged surface patina. Guan Yin, the Bodhisattva of compassion, her eyes downcast, standing in a samapada pose on an all-rounded nine petals lotus pedestal, her left hand upraised to hold a vase of nectar, right hand was once holding a lotus flower appears to be missing. She wears a crown of nine small heads, towering with the head of Amitabha Buddha, gorgeous long robes falling in wavelike loops and folds to her feet. The figure is classically proportioned, stylistically appears to be Tang (618-907 AD); We conservatively attributed its age to be no later than 19th century. A rare find!
