Finely cast, lacquered and detailed with skillful artistry, this stunning bronze is an unusual representation of the World Protector Damchen Garwa Nagpo, whom originally believed to be converted by Padmasambhava to be a vowed protector of Buddhism. The wrathful deity is beautifully aged in burgundy red, he is wearing the hat of a Geluns (Chiefs), with three bulging eyes, a bared fangs menacing laughing expression, and flaming orange hair, adorned with large earrings, his raised right-hand holds a vajra hammer and the left a blacksmith's bellows, lavishly attired in full-length garments and boots, riding atop a brown goat with twisted horns, and surrounded by a yellow flaming mandorla; With all its power intact, the force of Garwa Nagpo can be felt emanating in this century-old guardian statue.
