A finely worked bronze Tantric altar implement, detailed with hammered in sacred symbols, and a hand-carved large amber mounted in repousse silver frame. On one side is the ferocious 4-armed God of Wealth of the Kalachakra Tantra, Vajravega 金剛力, and on the reverse, a fearsome protector deity Dorje Legpa 金剛善護法 in a lacquer cane hat with a bow and arrow in his hands. Mystifying with a flickering light-diffusing translucency, they sit above an hourglass-shaped bronze pedestal as a sanctified wish-fulfilling jewel in ritual offerings. Four auspicious symbols (Endless Knot, Sanka Conch, Treasure Vase, Dharmachakra) are embedded in the floral motifs. On the flared base are two Buddha figures seated in meditation. The Wish-fulfilling Jewel is ornate with 25 blue and green turquoise stones and red corals. The base plate has a large Kalachakra Tenfold Seed Syllable consecrated seal. Poised with a lush patina of ages, this is a well-preserved altar offering of the 19th century or earlier.
