This exquisite urn exemplifies the grandeur in Chinese vessels. It is shaped like a pumpkin with six panels forming an octagon. An engraved stem cap with floral motifs over a bulbous body, six arhats emerging in repousse reliefs, accentuated by the embellished stipples in the backgrounds. The urn is firmly seated on a slightly concave bottom, where four inscribed seal scripts are translated into 'Great Tang True View.' At the six upper facades are the six arhats. The first image is the Arhat Ashita, followed by the Arhat Rahula, Arhat Pantaka, Arhat Sudinda, Arhat Angida, and Arhat Bhadra. The rare gold-gilded copper urn epitomizes the prevalent of elegant Imperial Chinese artistry. It is well preserved in perfect condition.
