An antique pair of blissful Buddha bronze hands in the Ayutthaya style, displaying one of the most frequently seen Buddhist iconography, the Vitarka mudra, specifically the teaching gesture representing wisdom. This mudra is formed by joining the tips of the thumb and index finger to form a circle, which symbolizes perfection with no beginning or end. Despite being cast in bronze with a century-old patina, these highly stylized hands of the Buddha appear fluid like lava that seems to smolder and glow in the smooth roundness of every fingertip, somehow they touch us inward and emanate outwards with peace and tranquility, a perfect reminder of our inner essence the potential of our own bodhicitta waiting to flower and bloom.
