This once gilded and lacquered wood carving of the God of Wealth evidently has been used for home shrine worship for hundreds of years. Despite of its aged condition, a powerful presence continue to emanating from this small statue. As the Dharmapala Defender of Faith, he is dressed in Ming robes and armors, and a helmet that may have missing. Remaining in his left hand, the Dharmapala is holding a gold piece; and a hallowed space in the back of the statue indicated that it was consecrated with a certain ritual offering.
